Sidari is a coastal tourist resort, very popular and crowded enough, within a wonderful landscape, some 36 kilometers Northwestern to the
town of Corfu. The village counts some 370 permanent residents. It is a very ancient place; human activity is evidenced in the place since the Neolithic period. The whole landscape is marvelous, especially the really idyllic area of Melitsa, with the romantic “Channel of Love”. It is also worth visiting the scenic village of Agrafi and the ruins of the old Venetian castle.
Hotels, studios and rooms to let are available for accommodation within the settlement, at the nearby village of Karoussades and in the broader area. Food and drink is abundant and good in the sea front taverns and in the taverns of the village and of Karoussades. Swimming and sunbathing is possible at the nice, well-organised sandy beaches of Sidari village, awarded a blue flag. And, if you wish to leave the village, you may go to the beaches of Agios Ioannis, Gialos, Agios Andreas and Astrakeri. It is not without reason that the whole area is said to have some of the best beaches of
Corfu island. Access from the capital (
Corfu, 36 kilometers) is easy by rented or private car and motorbikes. A taxi station is available in the village. Small boats with regular service depart daily from the small port of Sidari to the islets of Othoni, Ereikoussa and Mathraki.
